I really don’t let it bother me much unless it gets personal. Until then, more often than not its nothing but one opinion opposed to another. I try to keep in mind that nothing is learned when everyone agrees on everything.

But you have no idea how many times I laugh at those who are so disdainful of stats because they think are useless. Its because I know as sure as snot, that when their kids were in HS, they knew BAs, ERA, number of Ks, and Lord knows what other useless stats, and were likely the 1st ones to question some poor scorer’s judgment.

As an engineer one of the things I love about baseball (at least at the higher levels) is that it is STATS driven.  Ask any batter that hits close to the Mendoza line.

I also agree with a few that high school stats are meaningless to some degree because of the inherent error of non skilled scorekeepers.  Which is why scouts from colleges and pro's watch games to gauge the skills of a player.

See that is where you are so wrong and delusional in your statements, just to stir the pot.   No one ever said that stats do not matter in HS.   But rather who they mattered to.

yes I read the newspaper every tues to see the stats for all teams, but I knew that would not be the deciding factor in where son went to college, drafted, etc.

No one dislikes you because you are a stats man, what they don't like is how you force your way into topics and cause trouble, and how you disagree and like to post topics and then argue with everyone.

So the way I see it, it's not us. And I am laughing at you too stats, because just like scorekeeper I think your time may be up soon.
