My son has been invited to the 2014 Power Showcase in Miami in January. Can anyone give me some input on the quality of this showcase versus the price? There have been no postings since 2011.

I think it's great. My son went last year and is returning. It's not really about great exposure or anything; it's really just a terrific experience -- playing HR Derby in Marlin Stadium against HS sluggers from across the globe. Plus it puts them on a big stage in a competitive environment, which never hurts in terms of preparing for the future.
Great dinner event in CF mezzanine; every boy is special. Some good games, and the HR Derby itself is a ton of fun.
One word of advice: Tell your son to practice hitting off a JUGS machine, and coach him to BE PATIENT! The boys who go the furthest take the most pitches. PM me if you want more info.
