former major league player, now the AA manager of Dbacks' affiliate Mobile BayBears, became ill during the team's most recent away series in Montgomery. Brett apparently had a minor stroke and is presently in a hospital in Mobile. (The owner of the franchise drove to Montgomery to pick Brett up on and drive him to a hospital in Mobile.)

Brett is one of the classiest men I have ever met, and I am ever mindful of the wonderful role model he is for our son. He is still a fan favorite in Atlanta, (and Los Angeles of course) and there was a nice article about him a couple of weeks ago in the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Please include Brett in your prayers as he battles yet another health scare (he has survived cancer of the tonsils, prostate cancer, and a heart scare last year while managing the High A affiliate in Lancaster). His lovely wife travels with him during spring training and baseball season, and she is with him in Mobile, which I am sure brings him comfort.
