Darby Walker, a player from Irving Nimitz, and a very close friend of mine, has been involved in an accident. Yesterday he was riding his dirtbike, like he usually does and has done so for many years now, with all of his protective gear on, and crashed. He has suffered 5 broken ribs and a punctured lung, all of which were taken care of last night with the great people at Baylor Medical Center in Irving. From what I have gathered via my mom via his mom, if he was not wearing a helmet, it could have been much much worse. I visited him today and he looked well and on a speedy recovery while wearing one of his dirtbike jerseys...he was sound asleep from the pain medicine.

He will be fine, but it is always good to pray for someone involved in such a bad accident. Pray for a speedy recovery so he can get back to what he loves, including baseball.

I go way back with him to the very first days of IBBA baseball down in the River Bottoms of Irving, where we eventually formed the Diamondbacks with Blake Beavan, Yogi Gallegos, Ryan Pressly, among many other great kids...this and going to visit him are the least I can do for a good friend.
