Austin recently joined my son's rising 16U team, he came to 2 fall practices, made a great impression with everyone, and my son connected with him. Then a few days later on 9/18/18, he was sitting on a parked ATV with a friend and it started to roll backwards down the hill/driveway. As it started to move, he had the presence of mind to push the girl off (she was fine) but the ATV landed on him as it rolled down the hill, leaving him with a broken T12 & L1 and paralyzed from the waist down. He does not have any medical insurance. He had surgery to stabilize his spine with rods and was just moved to Children's Hospital of Atlanta, where he'll be for 3-4 weeks and then he will do outpatient rehab, hopefully at the Shepherd Center.
Obviously the family's medical costs are/will be astronomical and we are just trying to spread the word. He recently represented the Southeast at PG Sophomore Series Classic and made the Elite ATT for Pitching, and is ranked as the #43 RHP for 2020 in Georgia, #501 Nationally. https://www.perfectgame.org/Pl...ofile.aspx?ID=536429
We can only imagine how devastating this would be to someone who lives and breathes baseball, not to mention the unbelievable financial burden to a family without insurance. If you are so inclined, ANY donation amount is greatly appreciated.

His mother is posting updates on his condition/progress on the site as well.
Thank you!
