Had the opportunity to go to the 18 & under Premier WS this week in Mobile, Alabama
The tourney was well run and great competition! We, Dallas Titans, had opportunity to face Bayside Yankees, Houston Heat, Indiana Bull, KC & Nebraska Sluggers Louisiana Angels, SA Sliders, Dallas Mustangs.
Unfortunately we came up a little short and lost Saturday night to Indiana.
Congrats also to the Arlington A's as they also made it to Saturday night but had a rain delay only to lose after a 2AM start time on Sunday morning.
In case there were still questions about "Premier WS" we just wanted to let everyone know that the Titans had a great trip to their event and we are not a member of the affiliation of teams - so I guess those guys do let the other reindeer join their games!!

All the best to those of you still playing and can't wait to see who wins it all!!

Great post and continued well wishes to the Titan's baseball club!
Premier World Series? The premier World Series is in Farmington.. the place where you have to earn your way to it....

I see all of these "premier" teams just cutting checks to go to theirs and picking up players to go with them that haven't played with the team all summer....

hmmmmm, seems stratgically placed tourney after AABC State is over....

So even though the talent level will def. be high... it is still no different that USSSA, CABA, AAU, Super Series, Triple Crown....

Can't they just change the name to A Premier Showcase... how is it a World Series?

Any input from anyone on that?

If it is goin gto have the best of the best... I need to see a bracket to see who East Cobb, Midland Redskins, Florida Bombers, Virgina Barnstormers, etc drew in first round....
IMO Perfect game offers both... an open World Series (WWBA nationals)... and the BCS Finals... And you don't have to play league with them to qualify, you aren't confined to your pre-season/beginning roster... BCS finals are as tough as it gets... win the regional and you are in... Having said that, I think if you take the top 8 teams from any of those sanctions your looking at who is playing best on that day...IMO
I remember back in the early 1990's they had an all star tournament of sorts where the best players from the AABC, NABF, Dixie, Babe Ruth and others got together to see who was the best. My mentor Steve Adair coached the AABC group. I think it may have been only one year, but I know it happened. It was also on TV. Fox Sports covered it.

Okay. For some reason, I read a really negative tone to the overall post. But you did make one positive statement in there.

I don't get too hung up on tournament names. More worried about good competition being present. They can call it the mud puddle classic or the Universal Championship. No difference to me.

That tournament is still be held, LA.

"The USA Baseball Tournament of Stars, held each June, showcases the top 16- to 18-year-old players from (in addition to RBI), the American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC), American Legion, Babe Ruth Baseball, Dixie Baseball, National Amateur Baseball Federation (NABF), PONY baseball, and at - large teams from USA Baseball, the governing body of amateur baseball."
The posters here represent a small subset of the egos in DFW alone. Smile

The AABC versus Premier versus EC versus Joplin versus anything else is a tired dicussion --- similar to the AC thing. Do we really expect to see "purity" in summer baseball? It just doesn't exist anymore. It is a $$business$$. I know I sound cynical, but it is what it is. Pick a team that presents your kid with the opportunities you desire for him.....and, like Texan, don't get caught up in event names. I like the tradition of AABC, but the east coast kids are still playing AAU or WWBA (for the most part). And I suspect the All-Star teams from any of these tournaments would be pretty stout.

Well said PD!
It is amazing how we get into such a tizzy over titles such as "Premier" and "World Series" I just wanted to let everyone know that it was a good tourney with good competition.
As far as exposure, I was able to talk to over 15 scouts at our games on the weekend(most D1 major conferences) and heard from others at other fields.
Let your angst against everyone else and your egos subside for a minute and let someone have kudos for doing a good job. Who cares if they made $$$ at it or not, after all does'nt everyone of us like a pat on the back at our job. Nothing against anyone else's team or prefered organization, but just wanted to say that I and my team were pleased with the tourney!

Good luck to all of you playing in the Superior Baseball Championships of the greater suburban southwest metropolitan area.
