Small, private liberal arts school. Pretty good reputation for academics. They'd probably rank 3rd behind Furman and Wofford among private colleges in SC. They went D1 3 or 4 years ago. Last time I was there the facilities had a ways to go. The field was fine, but not much in the way of bleachers. They supposedly had some major upgrades in the works. Not sure if that ever got done or not.

I heard the HC speak on outfield play at a coaching clinic a few years ago and was very impressed. However, I have heard from various sources that he can be a bit of a hardcase. Nothing wrong with that, but may not be everyone's cup of tea.

They have made some progress in recruiting the last few years, but still have a ways to go before they are consistently competitive in the Big South. They play a good schedule and have had some good wins against some name teams, but they just don't have the bodies yet to sustain it.

I think they've had some turnover at pitching coach and recruiting coordinator the last few years. Not sure who's there now.

In short, a good liberal arts school that seems to be moving in the right direction baseball wise.
Our older son played 2 years at PC, and our summer team recruits a couple PC players every year, including last summer's Valley League Player of the Year, and first team All American, Brad Zebedis. I had a nephew play 4 years of basketball
there.

We love the school-great education in a small town South Carolina setting, but with all the fancy restaurants and the like within 20-25 minute drive.

PC's field is fine, but outside the actual field certainly isn't anything fancy. A new stadium is planned but not yet funded. The design was released a year or so ago, and when they build it, it will get a lot of attention. They've had excellent recruiting years the past 2 years and should move up the Big South ranks this spring. The school is small for a D-1, but the students really like the size and it's a very comfortable place.

Presbyterian is well-regarded academically and its alumni seem to be well-placed in the business world, particularly Charlotte and Atlanta.

Coach Pollock has been there since just before the transition to D-1, knows the game well, and is a big believer in hard work. He's very personable, but they will never fail because they got outworked by somebody else. He was a PC baseball player, had a minor league career, and then returned to PC to coach and has paid his dues.
Afraid not. However, based on conversations with a buddy whose son plays at a different SoCon school I am pretty sure Western is fully funded. Historically they have had a very successful mid-major program. They've been down just a little the last couple of years, but I wouldn't read anything into that. I'd still put them in the upper tier of the SoCon. Coach May could tell you a lot more.
