Preseason Games

I just spoke to his father the other day and Stonehill is a strong possibility at this point, he mentioned another school as well and to be honest I don't remember.

Was it Merrimack College? Or was that someone else?

Im trying to just work through it.. I don't know if its just weak from the injury or still injuried. I pitched yesterday vs Alverine and did ok.. Only an inning touch up striking out 2.. We beat Alverine 8-1 I think or around that. We had everyone throw an inning or so.. We did well and I am not feeling as bad as I did before. We are young, but I think we will do ok.. The scrimmages helped get out the kinks. Milford has a tough schedule though

On Blakeman I want to say it was Worchester Poly maybe or Worchester State. You may be right with Merrimack, I talked to Mr. Blakeman at the end of the day.

That was our last scrimmage I think and I do not know if he pitched. A smaller kid threw first.. threw pretty well. He doesnt have velocity(75ish) but around the plate and hit his spots well. Then another kid threw who had blonde hair.. Threw alright and had an ok curve.

Somersworth pitcher tosses no-hitter in opening game. DJ Colbert struck out 11 and walked 1 as the Hilltopers defeated Raymond 15-0 yesterday. The game was shortened to 5 innings due to mercy rule. Summary was posted to www.granitestatebaseball.org.

Kevin Veillux had himself a great openning day today, striking out 10 batters while allowing 0 hits, that is right he tossed a no hitter, and what is better is that he pitched 8 innings, after 7 innings Merrimack and Central still had not scored. Kevin went back for the eight and was still hitting upper 80's. Central had a walk off victory.

Poore is not pitching until Friday I have that on good authority. This Welch kid sounds great, I will not be able to see him tomorrow but if you could keep the message board updated on his starts I would really like to see this kid.

How can I sleep when people are talking about regular season baseball in the preseason thread?

I believe we faced the Welch kid in the district finals last year for Babe ruth All-stars. If it was him he certainly brought gas. I was impressed with his velocity for a 14U player at the time. I think he had pitched the night before for them (they came through the losers bracket)so they didn't want to use him but we knocked around their starter in the "do or die game" and they brought him in. We should have been more kind to their starter..lol. He gutted out the final 4 or 5 innings on fumes to beat us. He was a bit wild but threw hard. Good sized kid too if I remember correctly. I'm sure we will see him again for 15U district play.
