With all the public parks and fields closed my son’s hitting coach has been running his hitting at one of my son’s teammates house out in the sticks of West Palm. The kid has a cage and a somewhat flimsy turf mound. First time we show up there must be ten+ cars there. They had chairs spread out for distancing, bleach spray to disinfect, and a tent for shade. We go about once a week. He’s been in hitting groups with several top D1 dudes, some top minors prospects, and a handful of MLB guys. There are MLB pitchers throwing pens on his mound because no facilities are open. Its like a speak easy for baseball players. It is amazing to see him fit in and watch all these guys of different levels joke and hang out with the one thing they all have in common drawing them together. My son is 14 and he is getting an education on a few things I wasn’t quite ready for him to learn about (pretty sure he’s heard all this stuff before though)
