Just wanted to mention a couple of things before I bow out and do more lurking than posting as my son is giving it a shot at the next level.

From the Texas to Pitching Forums, the General to Recruiting Forum, I have posted a few comments, questions and answers. But the the thing I did more than anything was read and absorb. The information I have received from this site is priceless.

First I would like to thank MN-MOM for the endless hours of work she puts into this site to keep it up and running. Without her there is no HSBBWEB.
Secondly I would like to thank TPM for lending her expertise, honest and unbiased.

A couple of months ago I sent out a few PM's to some posters who having read their posts over the last couple of years I have come to respect and appreciate the vast knowledge and love of the game that they have. Along with this love, they also have a desire to see every kid get the opportunity to succeed at the next level if that is what the young man wants to do.

From these PM's I have received invaluable information. Collectively, these guys have put so much knowledge in my sons hands that I truly feel I should be paying top dollar to every one of them.
observer44, Coach May, Bum, Midlo Dad, TRhit, PGSstaff have all taken the time to give me some very indepth analysis and suggestions on what may help my son improve.

I know there are many, many more that I am leaving out and to those I truly appreciate your feedback.

So in closing I would just like to say that the info that my son and I have received from this site both in baseball and life itself is truly "PRICELESS".

Good Luck to all in 2008 and beyond and God Bless!

What a GREAT post. Very well written and says so much about the posters on this site. I second the thanks to all the generous posters that take the time to help all of our sons reach the next level. All this info was instrumental in helping get my son recruited too. I have a huge binder of reprinted info from this site that I plan to pass on to the younger players we know.

Thank you to all the long time experienced posters that take the time to answer all our questions.
Wonderful post, thanks so much. And as others have said, don't forget to stop back...

Technically, this site is free to all members. But if you read the fine print, you'll see that there is a small price to pay...to consider giving back once you've made the journey, by sharing your experiences as so many of the posters you have mentioned do! Big Grin

I agree, great post. When I first joined HSBBW my son was just trying to make varsity for his high school team. The first very important lesson I learned from the members here was to employ a "hands-off" approach to the game with respect to how I deal with the high school coaches. Let them do their job, shut up and play. The second lesson was the value of showcasing to gain exposure. I would have never heard about Perfect Game if it were not for HSBBW. Third, the section on recruiting has been invaluable.

But the greatest aspect of high school baseball web is the friendships I have developed with many of the members. It is amazing the sense of community on this site.. God bless you all.
Thanks to the orginal poster for putting in such eloquete words the feelings I have about this sight. I have a 4x a day habit for lurking on this sight.
My son has learned not to question things when I tell him information I've learned from this sight. He used to say how do you know that and I'd say I have very good sources.
Two years ago I never would have thought my son would be in college going into his 2nd semester, and be playing baseball on a scholarship. The encouragement and guidance I have found on this sight is as the original poster stated "PRICELESS".
Thanks everyone.
