PAMom,
I am glad that the Steelers won the game - because that is the worst call I have ever seen in a football game in my life - and it almost cost them the game.
And I certainly am not a Steelers fan - LOL
I still do not understand the technical rules about booth reviews - and how they could allow that to happen.
Live and learn I guess.
Pa,
I guess I didnt express myself as well as I should have.
It seems to me that over the years - the NFL and its officials have done a tremendous job on possession reviews.
We may not like the delays that occur on the reviews - but they just about always seem to get it right.
Then - this play happens - in a huge game at a huge time - AND the original call is OVERTURNED - and NOTHING.
Zippo.
I still dont get it.

Apparently the ref (Morelli, in this game) has the last word after reviewing the play. This morning the explanation from the NFL of "how it happened" is that Morelli both MISINTERPRETED and COMBINED two rules on what constitutes a "catch." Of course, Pittsburgh fans like the "conspiracy theory" idea MUCH better!
And you are correct:

A friend's dad has sworn to me since I was a wee lad that the NFL was rigged by Vegas bookies.
He also, when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, opined that the pictures weren't real, and gave this beaut:
"Aw heck, that's in a desert somewhere. Any minute now a camel is going to come walkin' through".
To this day he thinks the NFL is fixed. I never mention NASA to him anymore.

Looks like Payton Manning is this generations Dan Mario & Jim Kelly.
Great Numbers; No Titles

Dan Marino would have won that game by 3 touchdowns.
Peyton has zero ability to scramble and is limited in picking up blitzes.
Dan was slow but agile. He moved very well in the pocket and made you pay for the blitz.

No matter who the QB is, if the line and backs dont do their job protecting the QB will not be successful

Not yet.... As much as I like Peyton, (we are both Vols) Marino and Kelly both made it to the big game (Kelly did a few times).
Peyton, hasn't made it there yet, but I think his day will come. He is too good. He is still the only quarterback in the NFL I would build my team around.
JMO
I'll take Big Ben, thanks!
So who will they see in Detroit???? My money is on Seattle ... but of course I wouldn't want to condone gambling on a family website
It was a block in the back until the league paged the referee and told him we need this game to be closer.
