Will scouts come and go? In other words if they were at several games in pre season and then now they are not, does that mean they have lost interest?

They are probably watching other players. It is interesting to see the number of scouts vary week-to-week ... depending on who is playing. They have a lot of territory to cover, including high school, JUCO, and 4 year schools. I wouldn't be discouraged at this point. It is still early in the season.

That is what I figured. It was just strange because there appeared to be a lot of interest and then the last couple of games no one was there. My son thought that they just weren't interested anymore and I thought what you said. This will give him some encouragement that they might come back. Was your son drafted?

MLB scouts usually come early on in the season and then late near the draft, it depends how you looked early on.
Good example. A GA Hs player was being heavily scouted early on in the seaon and then they stopped coming all togther, the dad was sorta freaked out, though they all lost interest. They Came to see him at the end of the season and after a few good showings at MLB teams pre draft workouts, he was selected in the 2nd round

My son is a college junior. He was not the prototypical "high potential" pitcher in high school. A lot has changed in college ... he has been scouted pretty heavily this spring, but as is always the case, the scouts tend to "disappear" for a while and then re-surface as the draft draws near. At least ... that is what we keep telling our son
