No, not yet...we plan on it. Not alot of time right now, he also plays ice hockey. So between finishing up fall showcase bb and start of ice hockey we are treading water.

Not sure exactly where your sons priority is but right now your son is not a "higher end" D1 recruit. In fact not sure he even fits the D1 profile.

He needs to improve skills for serious D1 interest.

You maybe correct, not sure why 3 D1 schools have contacted us then?

Just because a coach contacts a player, doesn't necessarily mean that there is real interest.

And what's with the US, this is about him?

Just trying to figure out exactly what he wants.  If he wants to play college ball he needs to put in the effort needed to become a better player.  That would include more than what you have given.

Just trying to help you understand the process.

JEH- As a 2018, as much as I love seeing a hockey player, it consumes his ability in the off season to improve his game, gain functional strength and implement changes that he may need to be a D1 or D2 baseball player. IF that's the goal.

I'm a long time tier1 mm coach with a 2018 ('00) as well. He was a D1 prospect in hockey but chose baseball instead with an older sibling that played in the USHL and D1.  So I know that world very well.

Most on this site can assure you, if he's serious about college baseball, his measurables need improvement. It takes commitment to play ANY sport at the collegiate level.

One of my favorite sayings, "The goal should not to be seen, it should be to create something worth seeing"

There is a point in a player's journey where (for most) decisions have to be made. Most kids who want to make baseball work for them at the D1 level need the winter to train for baseball. My son improved dramatically after he stopped playing high school basketball. In the fall he played varsity soccer and fall ball. In turn a friend's son (five year MLB player so far) was such a stud prospect he also played high school football and basketball. He was a co-captain of all three sports.

If your son loves hockey too much to not give it up it may prevent him from becoming a D1 baseball player. But it's ok. There's nothing wrong with playing hockey and baseball in high school then playing for a top D3 college baseball program. Unless a kid believes he's a pro prospect in the making he should optimize his opportunities the way he feels best. There are plenty of posters on this site whose son's played D3 and had a great college baseball experience.

My take is he's got a year to get his 60 time under 7.0 seconds and put on muscle and start driving the ball.  Time is all any of us have.   He has a year, so he's lucky.  I know several 20 or 21 year olds where it is pretty much too late.   They can still play local Men's Leagues or whatever, which is fun, but their opportunity passed them by to play college ball.  How bad does he want it?

I consider myself fairly "old school" and I get that it seems counter-intuitive to spend so much time with a track coach when you are a Baseball player.  But you gotta go with the landscape that you are given, and in the current Baseball climate and the forseeable future, measurables are everything (or at least count for a heckuva a lot)

by the way:  6'4" is a heckuva measurable.  Height can't be taught or developed.  It might get him a 2nd look somewhere.  Still gotta deliver.  I repeat: How bad does he want it?
