Well , hes 23 235 lbs lefty. No pro exp. but plenty of college exp. has done every thing you can ask of a pitcher up to this point. Pitched a no hitter against a former national campion NAIA Div team , was one of if not the leading lefty in Era with a 1.45 or so in the Nation for the NAIA Division , As the #1 pitcher , helped Lindenwood University reach the regionals for 1st time in school hist. And has about a 2.5 or less career era with a ton of innings pitched. Big , strong , healthy lefty and not one bit of intrest has been shown.
Had a friend who played there for 2 years. I believe it was Monterey. He played in the Pros for a few years and went to Japan for 2 and then Mexico for 2. He loved Japan.
At 23 I wouldn't give up. Velocity is a big factor and he should keep going to ML tryouts. One guy know spent 2 years in US college ball ,came back to Canada and hit 92 at a camp and was signed on the spot. He had no interest prior to that. You have to perfrm in front of the right guy at the right time and place.
Good luck.
His makeup has been tested for years. Since playing in a spanish American league from the age of 17 he has had to play in a loud and unusual atmosphere. Right now he is playing in the Benito Juarez Baseball League on the south side of Chicago. Let me tell you , those Chicago park district fields are brutal. When a pitcher has to adjust to every bump and hole on the mound that works on their patience. Throw in a bunch of people yelling at you in a language your not familiar with. You have your work cut out.
