My son played FB and BB last year. During BB season, he had to lift weights in FB off-season every day, even if he was going to be pitching that night. Needless to say, that lasted one year and he is BB full time now! When will these BB coaches put their foot down and not allow this kind of thing to happen? At least not lift the day someone is going to be pitching. It's a travesty!!! I bet a FB coach wouldn't allow a FB/BB player to pitch 7 innings the day of a FB game!!

OP, I totally agree and young T-Bird decided to play baseball only starting this fall.
the reason i posted this is that i am a former college head coach as well as AAAAA and AAAA.
I am now at a AA school with a new AD and he makes them lift at 7:00am, during the athletic period, and do a sprinters workout after school
before they can come to baseball practice, and
he says he is for all sports.........right!
small towns are great to live and play in but don't ever bring an athlete to them.
one thing i do know, however, is that what goes around comes around.
