Ok, here is my question for the umpires. Now this is at the PONY level so high school might be different but I was curious.

Runner at second base, two outs. Dropped third strike that got away from the catcher and ended up rolling out of the field of play. Kid on second was attempting to take 3rd on the dropped third strike.

The other team's coaches claimed that the kid stealing third base should have been allowed to score since the ball went out of play. Umpire disagreed and kid stayed at 3rd base. I of course was happy the kid didn't advance home but was that the right call?

Dash is 100% right the call was correct......the award for the ball going out of is based on the base that the runner held at the "time of the pitch" which was second......thats why 3rd was the correct award...
