I don't know much about the current Florence Darlington program. I really liked Curtis Hudson, the former head coach, but he left a year or so ago. Don't know much about the new guys.
SMC is a great program. Always in the post season and multiple trips to the JUCO world series over the years. I think the world of Tim Wallace, head coach, and Matt Williams, the pitching coach. Matt is one of the best pitching coaches you will find in this area, JUCO or D1. You see a lot of guys transfering from SMC to D1 schools. FDTC will have a few that move up, but not as many.
I think SMC probably carries more players on the roster than FDTC, but I wouldn't swear to that. It would probably be easier to break into the starting lineup at FDTC. SMC is usually pretty loaded.
Facility wise neither is anything to write home about, but I'd give FDTC the edge there.
I've also spent a lot of time in Florence and Spartanburg. Neither is a place to get excited about, but I'd take Spartanburg over Florence. Of course, he'll be so busy it won't matter where he is.
If you have more specific questions send me a PM.

Thanks!
