About 2 weeks ago I started doing 200 swings ( 100 with weight, 100 with normal bat) but after reading up, I found out this may actually be detremental to my swing. Other sources say do 100 with normal bat, then 100 with a lighter bat increases bat speed. Whats your thoughts? What would be better for me?

There's a very fine line with weight bat swings.

Anything 15% heavie ror lighter than a regulation bat WILL change swing mechanics.

So, if you do decide to do over/under training, be sure to stay within those guidelines.

Also, I'd advise against 100 swings. That is way too much and will create mechanical breakdown.

Agreed with BOF, bands are a nightmare and very akward.

I would also suggest hitting a ball for the majority of swings, either soft toss or tee, not live.

Quite often you'll see hitters do so many dry swings that they lose track of the major purpose, which is to hit the baseball!

Keep us posted on your results if you decide to do this.
