Question on pitcher fed rules.

pitcher from 3rd inning comes out in the 4th and takes warm up throws.

as first batter comes up, the coach calls time and replaces the pitcher.

is this legal in fed or does the pitcher who warmed up have to pitch to a batter before replaced?

Legal. A pitcher must face at least one batter (or retire the side) when he enters the game. Exception: the pitcher becomes injured.

Dash, your answer has me more confused.
Does the pitcher who warmed up have to pitch to a batter before replaced?

Why the confusion? As Dash explained, the rule requires the pitcher to face a batter when entering the game, not the inning, unless, of course he becomes injured.
