I'm an 09' trying to get my summer schedule down with all the showcases and camps I'm gonna go to. however I have a few questions about certain showcases.

I planned on going to the PG sunshine south in early june, but due to conflicting schedules I think I'm just gonna go to the PG top prospect midwest showcase in september (I live in midwest). since the latter is in late september, and considering it takes a while to get results up, would that showcase be too late to get a lot of D1 and D2 looks? and which is the better showcase all around?

I also sent a nomination form to student sports to get invited to try out for the area codes. I have no MLB scout reccomendation or anything, I just put my sparq rating and such like it said (my rating's in the 60's). can I still get invited to try out with no reccomendation of such? and when does a participant receieve the invitation on average?

any type of advice/help is appreciated. thanks

baseball4lyfe, I think it is possible to get an Area Code invite from Student Sports, but I don't know how probable that is. I know that some Texas players got their invites this past week. If you do not get one, don't fret. My son didn't get one and was still recruited by three higher-level programs.

Regarding PG scheduling, I would attend the Sunshine South if at all possible. There are not always a lot of college scouts at the Sunshine events, but you'll get your rating a lot earlier, which you could use to market yourself to colleges. But late September, many D1's already have their list of A/B/C choices for early signing.

Best wishes!
