Quiet Period ??

Can somebody please clear up the definition of the dead period for me.

I know that coaches can not have contact with a recruit off campus - but can they show up to a student athlete's Babe Ruth (summer team) baseball game as long as they do not talk to the recruit?

I have seen conflicting reports of this on various websites.

The 2012-2013 baseball recruiting calendar.

See 13.02.5 in the D1 Manual for definitions of quiet and dead periods.

A dead period is more stringent than a quiet period, but for both an off-campus evaluation is prohibited.

Where I live, Babe Ruth teams do not play in September, November, or January.
