On the surface, it does seem very "publicity stunt" to me... didn't even think of the viagra angle.
If he proceeds, I suspect he is in for some major criticism on several fronts. But Lavar Ball seeks it out so I guess it's a new trend?

Rafael - Good luck with that. You were a talent 30 years ago, almost Hall of Fame. But those years have passed and so did your opportunity to earn an honest living. Go back to retirement.

Clearly HOF. A no doubter based on his stats and career. And good enough to be first ballot, even. Well, you know, without the steroids.
But the most painful part of your post is the "30 years ago". How did it go by so quick?
My favorite is when they asked Billy Ripken if he thought he could play at 53 and he said, "They told me I couldn't play at 32." HAHAHAHAHA!!
There would be more questions if he actually came back and performed well. He hasn't been tested in 12 years. He hasn't been playing baseball for all that time either.

A couple years ago, I watched this special ("Thunder and Lightning") about Rafael Palmiero and Will Clark at Mississippi State. This was my generation. I remember these guys and the College World Series. Even though I played college tennis I was a huge baseball fan. This is a great story, and you can see all the talent & different temperments these guys had. Check it out.
