It blows for sure.

My son played in a 14u tourney in Olympia this week. The rain caused the cancellation of two games. It meant that if we continued to win all of the games had to be played on Saturday and Sunday. Five games in two days, four on Sunday.

The boys won the first three but ran out of gas on the fourth game. I was pretty proud that they lasted that long. We played 22 innings on Sunday after 7 innings on Saturday. 29 innings in two days. The coach did an outstanding job managing the pitchers. My son threw six innings, his son six, the other 'starter' on our squad threw six over the two days. The rest was platooned with the rest of the boys, ok throwers but not regular pitchers. Our biggest worry was of course someone getting hurt but he managed it beautifully.

Yes, there are so many injuries that are ocld/wet weather related. What a marathon for your boys! Glad they played well.
We got away with just some bumps and bruises. My son got nailed in the upper arm by a fastball and had a big welt that is still aching, another kid tweaked and ankle and another kid had back problems but all of them seem fine. Luckily we have a week off after this.

I was glad they played well too. The got blown out in the first game (double elimination set) and we were wondering how they would react. They battled hard from that point on.
This is the worst spring in my memory. Of 8 practices scheduled for my Bronco kids, we held four. Our first game was rained-out Monday night. Luckily my son's team (he doesn't play for me anymore) has an indoor facility and had it's first tournament of the year in Arizona last month! 85 and sunny for five straight days. Oh but how quickly the tans have faded. Keep taking your Vitamin D, PNW'ers!
