Rain Rain - ? Houston Heat Showcase Tournament

doubt it... just south (down coastline) of there got 8.5 inches last night... Houston is getting rained on right now....

We got rained out there a few weeks ago in a Heat tournament. Got in about 3 innings on Friday, every thing was canceled at 1PM Sat after a brief shower. Some teams continued to play but since our venue was rained out we were sent home. I dont think we have played a full tournament in Houston in the summer in about 5 years. I dread seeing HOU on the schedule.

I heard the Aero Code tryouts (Houston) were cancelled this week but my info may be off.

06/26/2007 2:28 PM - Continued rain and a forecast for more rain in the Houston area has forced the organizers of the Texas Rangers Area Code Game Team Tryouts to move the location of the workout from San Jacinto College to Baseball USA. The date and times will not change. Registration will still be at 8:00 a.m. on July 3, and they will try to get started as close to 9:00 a.m. as possible. Preparations have been made to move the tryout indoors if necessary. The tryout will take place, rain or shine.

We are all going crazy with the rain

Texas STIX 17 pulled out of Houston Showcase because of the weather. Now at UTA for the weekend. Anyone else here this weekend.

A huge system is currently brewing just south of Houston in the Gulf. If it comes on-shore, I hate to think of how many more inches of rain Houston will get.

Forcast is 70% chance everyday through Friday..

H5AB, how is this affecting recruiting at Houston schools, since they probably haven't been able to see many games/players this summer?

It probably hurts the unsigned 07's more than any of the 08's. They've been looking at the top 08;s for a while now. The fringe players are sure to be hurt by the lack of competition to show their skills do to the weather. And when HUGE events like the Heat Invatational and Heat Showcase are scrubbed kids got to scramble to make sure theyre in the out of town events that fit them best. I talked to many today at Area Code and most are going to Georgia and Joplin two very well attended events. The Memphis Tournament is, or has been in the past, a very well attended event also.

Happy 4th! Houston is getting heavy rain today - 80% chance today with over 2 inches possible, 60% Friday, 40% Saturday. Does not look good for the tournament but that is definitely not an official report.

We are supposed to be playing at UT Dallas this weekend - is it getting in drier 'yal's way?

Short answer - NO

West Texas is dry, we need to head out there.
Big Spring, Midland, Odessa....there are numerous fields to play on....someone set something up.

Houston Heat tournament in Houston I beleive that is what svranger is referencing

THE HOUSTON HEAT 18U SHOWCASE HAS BEEN CANCELED FOR THIS WEEKEND.
