Son had his first experience with NCAA drug testing at 6:00 this morning. Actually is lucky that his name wasn't drawn in the fall. What a new experience. Didn't know he'd be "performing" with a witness. I won't go into the details involved, but you'd better not be modest!

A few questions...
I didn't know they took samples away from the baseball stadium. Thought this just happened after games. Does random mean any time day or night? Will the baseball team be scrutinized more now that they're in season?

KC,
I had to chuckle comparing sons own first experience to your statment.
You have an audience and as the guy said to son after a night game, "we got all night". The first time it's tough, second gets better, and by third you are getting a kick out of filling to the brim!

Random means what it means, player is randomly chosen. When they show up, they show up and randomly pull names. Testing has to be done by a lab, most likely one close to the area.

Most likely they will be back, and most likely your son will have a specimen taken by the school somtime during season.

The deeper you go into the season and playoffs, the more likely there will be random tests. The NCAA tested randomly during regionals and in Omaha.

Just another FUN experience of being a student athlete! Big Grin
