Hmm, a $174,000.00 raise, hard to turn down. It goes to show you how underpaid college athletics are....
I thought I was doing good with a $2500 a year raise.

Maybe we should "Occupy South Carolina"?
Keep in mind that was only Tanner's base salary. I had read once with all the incentives, endorsements, camp, etc it was pretty close to 500k? They get incentives for everything, GPA, wins losses, conference championships and CWS visits and wins.

But that still doesn't come close to SEC football coach's salaries.

Regardless, sometimes it's just not all about the money. Either that or his contract is laced with incentives from the university.
Actually, Tanner will take a pay cut of about $200,000 to be the new AD, according to published reports. Including incentives and bonuses, he made about $877,000 a year ago as baseball coach. The AD spot will pay him a total of $675,000. Yes, he really wanted to be the AD, a long-time goal for him. College baseball will miss a guy who made three straight trips to the CWS finals. Holbrook will be named the new coach tomorrow after successful assistant stints at UNC (his alma mater) and South Carolina.
