I believe a lot of the small schools actually rely on those forms. Most of their budgets cannot be sent on recruiting outside of state. The forms help open up conversation and help get more recipiants in the application pool. So, if you fill those out for a small school, you'll probably get a call from a coach and a honest look.
Bplr,
Tegid is correct. At VJC we look at those forms and usually my recruiting coordinator will follow up and ask for tapes etc...for instance your in NE, and we are in MD...we might not get the opportunity to see you live, but we can look at a tape or DVD and give you an idea where we think your skills fit into our program. Our budgets are tough to recruit far out of state, and I would encourage you to fill out those questionnaires. Some colleges look at them and I'm sure some don't!

Yes, coaches DO look at their on-line recruiting forms .... and it's the easiest place for a player to get started! Go to their baseball site and fill out the form ... completely! That means, before you start, verify that you have the correct phone numbers and e-mail for your HS and summer coaches and any scouts who have seen you play. If they have a "comments" section to the form, include info on tournaments or showcases where they can see you play and any link to your spring schedule where possible. It's also a good idea to follow-up an on-line form with a letter or e-mail. Good Luck! Smile
