Has anyone worked with a recruiting service. My son has gotten a couple calls from services who say they will help him/us with getting him to a college that is right for him and his skills. He's only 16 and a junior. They are looking for $795, which is only money, but it seems like a lot for something that I don't really understand what they do. Any help would be appreciated.

Part of my profession involves marketing so with my oldest (daughter) I did it myself. I can't fathom spending that much (which is negotiable by the way) to help a child get exposure with a college program but many people do. One of my daughter's HS and now college teammates used a service and spent even more than you're looking at. She ultimately signed with a school an hour from home that would've signed her without the service. Did it give her parents some peace of mind? Most likely. Was it worth the money spent? No way. I'm sure there are cases where it's worth it. But I'd think that more often than not, it's just as easy to do it on your own and save the money for a bat, glove, cleats, etc as rz said.
