My son will be a Junior next year and I was going to start putting together a recruiting video to send to college coaches next summer. He is a good defensive catcher but not a power hitter. Does anybody have any tips on what to include. Should I shoot from the back or side? Do I include his reaction to wild pitches? I am a catcher's dad I don't believe in passed balls Smile. As far as his hitting do I shoot from the back to see where the ball goes or from the side to see his form? As a rule of thumb is it best to keep it under 5 minutes?

When I went to the missouri state camp they shot video, and I thought the angles they used were great

Shoot him framing, from the front. Shoot him throwing, from the front(pitchers mound camera angle). Shoot him blocking and recovering, from the front.See a trend here?

For hitting,Id shoot him from the side he hits from. So,if he is a righty, shoot him hitting BP in the cage from the right side of his body(so they can see his swing without his back blocking the camera view). Also shoot some game footage, get the best angle the field or stadium offers.

Also doesnt hurt to have a 60 yard dash on there.Keep it short, yet his best throws and 60 time on there!!

Good luck!
