Regional Match Up Predictions

P1---thought you had punched the HP-Poteet rematch dance card? Surely some day we can give the mighty pirates a game.

Having said that I'm telling my son just to concentrate on the next game/series at hand. Its week to week at this point.

In Region 4 for 5A, Austin Westlake is a good guess, but don't count out Corpus Christi Ray. They have a very good team that handed Corpus Christi Moody two of its three losses this season.

I only am leaning towards Waxahachie because it looks like they have an easier route to the regional semi's. You guys have a tough road but I have you in the semi's vs Wax it will be a close one. I would love to see the rematch.

yeah I guess there is a benefit to winning the district.

We will have our hands full against Tx High this weekend. Anyone know much about them? Played them last year and it was a good series. I think they didn't lose much to graduation.

Best advice is to worry about who to play next when we get to that bridge.

It's not really easy for any team. There are a lot of quality teams out there. My predictions are just guesses really. Anything can happen each weekend. That's what makes it so much fun this time of year.

OD, I watched them play the second game of a double header with North Mesquite. They run ruled North in the first game.They weren't very impressive in the game I watched. They will have a tough time trying to get a hit off of JH. I predict one close game and one run rule. Ya'll hit the ball to well.

OK I had to adjust my prediction I am going with who I want to see in the regional instead of who I think will be in. I now have Poteet vs HP in the regional. This is why I always do bad in Shreveport.

Beast--thanks for the insight. Heard their lefty is pretty salty. Kinda like one that plays in your neighborhood I heard.

P1--you gotta call em like you see them. (Don't split the kings and don't double down on 14 however) I like the underdawg position however. "Just happy to be here, hope that we can contribute to the club, and the good Lord willing, things will work out."

The best of luck to the Pirates. Would love to see all three 10-4A teams advance to the next round.

Interesting sidenote: 2 of the top 2009 arms in Texas are going at it this week in Klein HS Matthew Purke and Conroe Oak Ridge HS Matt Graham. Should be an exciting matchup.

Purke is outstanding. I haven't seen Graham.

Turley is legit..

Prediction...............1st pick in the 09 draft.....Matthew Purke.

I agree with infield, CC Ray is definitely to reckoned with. Since Moody's move to 4A, Ray has moved up as the up and coming 5A program out of south texas. I like Ray to go state. I haven't followed any 4A ball in any other region other than region 4, so I don't know what other teams could be competing for spots in the state tournament. In region 4, it will most likely come down to a Moody/Calallen matchup for the region title.

And believe it or not, the most recent UIL realignment slots Ray on the 4A level beginning next year. That means there will be a whopping THREE 4A powerhouse programs in South Texas for the 2009 season.
