Sorry to read this news. I have great memories of Bob Welch on the A's. May God bless him and his family.
I remember that Reggie v. Welch AB, watching it in a NYC dorm room with other Yankee fans. We were stunned, but not nearly as stunned as the look on Reggie's face after the AB. Welch was a phenomenal talent.

I saw that he died on the ESPN ticker late last night from my hotel, very sad, he was only 57 years old.
In regards to the 1978 World Series encounter with R-E-G-G-I-E...that was classic Power vs. Power, and even though I was only 12 years old when it occurred, it's still etched in my mind. RIP Bob Welch
