Has any one seen this freshman pitch out of Winchester,MA high school. He is phenomenal he has an incredible velocity of 81mph before the highschool seasons even started and has movement to his fastball that makes it almost like a natural two seam. He's one of the best 14 year olds I have seen pitch in a quite some time. Does anyone else know of any great freshman around the New England Area

Welcome and good luck to this young man.

There are a lot of HS freshmen all over the country throwing 81. Its certainly not the norm, but there are still a lot at that velocity as freshmen. It could be a sign of very good things to come, but a lot more development will need to happen for him to be a true 'phenom.'

Best of luck to him. Great to have such good support as yourself! Wink

The problem with people today in baseball is that things get blown way out of proportion, for instance as you said 81mph is above the norm though you say there are a lot of freshman all over the country at that velocity. Maybe they throw considerably harder than most players in the area but i do have to say 81mph is incredibly above the 'phenom' standard, don't forget this is before the season and I am actually coaching a player who is on a full ride scholarship to B.C. for baseball. He is an excellent pitcher for the college standards and his maximum velocity is from 82-87 as a freshman B.C.

Welcome. If you take a look around the site, you will see this is not something that we do here.
We leave all of that ranking and rating stuff to the professionals.
I see that you bio yourself as a college recruiting scout looking for HS players.
This is also something we do not do here, solicit for business.
