Those boys for Wakeland can really swing it! I like them in 3! I would not be surprised if they save the kid that closed the game for the 3rd game if it gets that far.

Wakeland up 10-3 after 4 innings. Thompson pitching for Heath. McCall has two more homeruns today to go with the one he hit Thursday night.

Why didn't harvey pull thompson in 2nd inning when score went to 7-0. Not like you can lose this game. After a guy hits 2 bombs and my P walks in a run, I'm thinking I should try something else. Put in Jovan and get to game 3 if you can.

Big time congrats to Wakeland. The better team won in a best of three format. Wondering also why Thompson wasn't pulled after two. Also, did Thompson plunk McCall intentionally? It appears so after reading the Game Time highlights. I was not at the game. Heath had a great year but ran into a greater team. Wakeland bats are beastly.

I think Thompson was out there working hard just trying to make a good pitch to a good hitter. Better question would be did Oracion hit Benefield on purpose.

Very proud of the attention they brought to the area.

Would say some nice words about Wakeland but... I got that whammy thing...

Here is your answer. The same reason Baune wasn't pulled earlier on Thursday. It doesn't matter who you throw at Wakeland right now. They are going to hit up and down their lineup. Hernandez came in and gave up three. Wakeland has gotten hot at the right time and their bats are incredible. Thompson battled and had at least 10 strikeouts but the hits they got hurt. Everything that Heath hit was right at someone.

The better team in this series did win and congrats to them. I do believe that they will win it all. Good luck Wakeland.

Great season Heath. We enjoyed the games. You will always remember your 39-3 season. Can hardly wait for next year.

well at least now we know now..., no matter what beast and others have been shoving down our throats, that Heath isn't top team in country.. let alone this state.. but would say they are in the top ten... of 4A/5A...

Gave up how many runs??? 26? Ouch.

There not playing McKinney High in Round Rock, you can thank Rockwall for that.

They probably are glad they do not have to face those arms. 2 things however: I'd bet you McKinney High or McKinney North would trade the position(s) they're in with Wakeland's right now; and secondly teams do not get to the State Tournament without at least above average pitching, and you can bet they'll run into some good arms in the final 4.

My point was that for many weeks everyone was crowning Heath as Sate Champions and now those same people and more are doing the same with Wakeland. District 9 - 4A had pitchers who were able to slow down those great hitters from Wakeland so stay focus and and win on Wednesday and see what can happen from there. No disrespect toward Wakeland just not State Champions YET!

Nobody was saying they are state champions yet. They just hit the good pitchers from heath. They put up 26 runs. Wakeland has a shot at winning state but nobody is giving them the title yet, if they were why even play the rest of the games?
