Let me first qualify what I am about to say with this. I have been a HUGE lifelong mega fan and follower of Roger Clemens. To me there was none better in the game than him. Yes, I loved watching Nolan Ryan, Catfish Hunter, Jim Palmer, etc. etc. but Roger was the MAN!

When all this HGH and steroid fiasco broke out about him, the accusations, the committee hearing with McNamee, etc. I among others furiously defended his innocence (and still hold out hope) on here that nothing had been proven factually. Now seeing these reports about singer Mindy McCready really disturb me in more ways than one.

Long story short. If he is in fact found guilty of one or more of any of these accusations by a jury, then I would like to see the commissioner of MLB set forth the motions to change the highly touted NCAA pitching "Roger Clemens" award renamed to whatever is voted on by the fans or whoever. I don't think this prestigious award should hold the name of a player who could disgrace the game such as this.

Please know that writing this post is hard. I am older than Roger but he has not only been my hero in the game, but my son's.

What do you think?
