It's true! Flanagan the catcher, has been on this coaches "S" list for a long time. Truly a better receiver than last years duo ahead of him, but was the 3rd stringer!!!!

The kid was pumped-up, dropped the "F" bomb, was given his un-conditional release. Teammates begged to have him reinstated, didn't work. The AD had the coach put the player back on the team. Still had an ankle injury, but basically wasn't going to play anyway. "I'll put him back on the team, but that doesn't mean I have to play him!" So the story goes!!!!!!

The team wasn't hitting, couldn't hit, or didn't want to hit! So they brought up 2 sophomores and a freshman. Didn't play but a few juniors, but not the 3 underclassmen brought-up. Was this a threat?

Power struggle? Insubordination? Poor management? Lack of communication?

Who is to say what really happened! You will get different versions of what took place. What is really sad is that these graduating seniors, and current juniors, will have the worst memories of their last year/years in high school!
Mr. Peabody is correct. The F bomb Flanny dropped was while he was talking to me during a game at DGN. He simply said "Go up there F'in Ripping" and coach had enough and threw him out. You can say all you want about us not hitting and blah blah. Yea Brews injury had a little to do with it, but it was mainly that any little ounce of respect we had for Ushela was drained. Noone cared anymore for playing for this guy. I mean the guy brings up Sophomores and even Freshman when he had all the talent in the world on the bench. Grrr I hate the politics in H.S. baseball.
It takes a lot to slam a coach on this website like that, and that truly shows the ______ for LT's coach. Seems like things need to change, but what should people do? Kids won't quit because they love baseball and want to play college, and parents haven't done a whole lot yet. Its kinda sad the way things are handled and the options people have when HS programs aren't so great.

The Diamond...The problem with the system is that parents and players don't have a choice.

If the AD likes the guy, he's got the job...qualified or not. Too often, the AD doesn't go outside the school to get a "more qualified" coach, usually because of union constraints or because the school wants the coach to be a classroom teacher and not someone who doesn't teach at the school but only coaches at the school.

I suppose the coaches try their best and that is all that you can ask. The only problem is that there are more experienced eyes around that notice everything.
That's exactly the problem now. Our AD is a dick and always has been a dick. And seeign this is his last year at LT, he doesn't want to bring any attention upon himself because it is his last year. It just makes me mad to see all these other programs with top-notch coaches and we get stuck with a guy that can't even carry on a conversation. All i can say is thank god for travel ball.
