I was looking to go there out of HS, its a beautiful place, just outside the campus though is a rich neighborgood on one side, and the other is the ghetto where youll get jumped in a second. i was told that the extremely wealthy, i own the world attitude of a lot of the kids there led to quite a few ballplayers getting introuble for some serious drugs (told to me by a friend who went there). maybe its cleaned up a little cause if it has itd be great
Rollins College is holding a Developmental Clinic/Showcase on September 6th 2009. This is a great way to get a better understanding of the baseball program and coaches. It is also a great way for any player to get themselves infront of the Rollins staff. From what I have heard the coaches do a great job with instruction and the Head Coach gives a very informative talk about Rollins and the entire recruiting process. If you would like to get further info, I believe that all of the information is posted on the Rollins College website.
We visited on a college tour in Spring 2012 and met Head Coach. Nice guy and nice facility, beautiful campus.... baseball field is about a mile from Campus.

The sunshine conference is arguably one of the most competitive D2 conference in the nation. It appears that Rollins has had to follow suit to compete with the likes of U. Tampa and Florida Southern who routinely bolster their rosters with transfers from top D1 programs.

Rollins is a great school but be careful. My son was recruited by Coach Krot who was outstanding but he is no longer there (could be a red flag). My son was going to commit there but we did some more research and talked with alumni of the school and former baseball players of the program and there were alot of negative comments made about the current head coach. After hearing this my son ending up taking another offer. I would suggest that you talk with some alumni and if possible some former players and you can then make your own decision. Hope this helps.
Thanks everyone. We did our due diligence and 2B decided to commit. He will continue to be a 2-way player and will play in a great conference where he will get plenty of exposure. He's very comfortable with the current coaches. Plus with academic and athletic money, it's a full ride at a very good school where he can get a degree that will set him on the path that he wants. And it's only a couple of hours from home.

So if anyone in the future has questions about Rollins, we should be in a position to give a first hand answer. We hope it will be a good one!
