RPI, Troy NY

Troy is a great historic city. It is where the NY State Connie Mack quarter finals are held. Some very good BB and by historians consider it the home of Pro BB and birth place of the Dodgers. I assume RPI is the poly tech college in Troy. We have played on their field a few years ago.

Grew up in the area and aunt and uncle were very involved with the school. Top Engineering and business school. They have improved the facilities greatly the past the past 10 years. Not familiar with the baseball program but as a school you can't go wrong- simply one of the best.

Personally I wouldn't call Troy a "great historic city" however, more of a run down dump IMO. However upstate NY overall is beautiful.

Having grown up in the tri-cities I would like nothing more than to compliment the area but the truth is Albany-Schenectady-Troy hay days were a few decades ago.

Nevertheless, RPI is truly an outstanding top level school with tremendous business opportunities for those who graduate from there. Great hockey school too.

I didn't know RPI was at Stanford camp. My son was there too and I didn't know RPI was in attendance.

Thanks for the responses guys. Having looked at the schools website and information it certainly appears to be a top academic institution. Is there anyone out there that has info on the team/coaches? IG, we didn't know RPI was there either, guess there ia always "someone watching" LOL.

Wow, that brings back memories. Can't help you with how the Baseball program is, but my Dad got his Master's degree from RPI back in the early 60's. I remember going to RPI hockey game back in the day. They had a real good hockey program. Sorry I couldn't be of more help on the Baseball front.

I think Coach Merc is familiar with the area. South Troy Dogers are a very good team from the area. They are usually at the Connie Mack championship in Farmington
