Grew up in the area and aunt and uncle were very involved with the school. Top Engineering and business school. They have improved the facilities greatly the past the past 10 years. Not familiar with the baseball program but as a school you can't go wrong- simply one of the best.

Personally I wouldn't call Troy a "great historic city" however, more of a run down dump IMO. However upstate NY overall is beautiful.
Having grown up in the tri-cities I would like nothing more than to compliment the area but the truth is Albany-Schenectady-Troy hay days were a few decades ago.

Nevertheless, RPI is truly an outstanding top level school with tremendous business opportunities for those who graduate from there. Great hockey school too.

I didn't know RPI was at Stanford camp. My son was there too and I didn't know RPI was in attendance.
