Can someone tell me where the heavy balck rubber mats that are common in hitting cages come from?

You usually have to special order through a Sporting Goods team dealer. We found a great alternative - horse barn mats. Way cheaper, holds up well to metal spikes. We line our cement floor dugouts with them also.

To save even more money, buy them used!!!!
Thanks. We bought a good about of used field turf but it gets pricey. I always see rubber mats in the cages but never knew where it came from.
If you have any local quarries, the conveyor belts are made of super heavy rubber strips, 3'-4' wide and thick enough to survive nuclear attack. We've had some used belts around our ballpark since my sons were in t-ball, and they're now in their 20's. The belts look just the same.
