Just trying to find out how this is to be scored. Two outs, runner on first. Batter hits into FC 6-4 for the third out. Did the BR attain first base and are the Runners Left on Base set to one for this inning?
I may be wrong, but I understand one of the points of the LOB stat is to reconcile the total plate appearances with runs and outs. That is PA=R+O+LOB. The batter in the original post did complete his plate appearance and was neither put out nor did he score. He was LOB at 1B. mpd
10.02(g): "Number of runners left on base by each team. This total shall include all runners who get on base by any means and who do not score and are not put out. Include in this total a batter runner whose batted ball results in another runner being retired for the third out."
