I know it is answered that the play wasn't legal under HS rules but wanted to bring the other codes up just in case others read this for that regardless of the website name.

HS rules (FED rules): Player is out and ejected for MC regardless of when it happened.

OBR rules: Player is not out or ejected unless park/league rules state otherwise. Such as, LL and Pony are OBR based rules. LL says out and ejected. Pony does not unless the contact is malicious which is umpire judgment and most allow it since the rules allow it.

NCAA: I'll leave it up to others to confirm. I know they have an ejection. But, I seem to recall a quirk in the call as to if the contact occurs before or after the runner scores. At least, I'm pretty sure it was NCAA which has the extra stipulation. If before, he is out. If after, he is safe. Either way, he is still ejected.

The runner is allowed to make (possibly violent) contact with the catcher as long as the contact is unavoidable (it is if the plate is blocked) and part of a legitimate attempt to reach the plate. Attempting to dislodge the ball is illegal.

Scoring a run is dependent on the timing of the touch of the plate vis-à-vis the violation. If the contact is flagrant or malicious, the player is dumped (dump does not affect scoring).
