No. I don't think 7.0 60yd speed would have beat those out. They'll just have to get more pop to move the right fielder back to get away from that. I don't think the right fielders were playing much deeper than 220' and with a few steps in while the ball is in the air they really didn't have long throws to first.

Our HS clocked the players and the times for all the freshmen except for my son were surprisingly slow. His times were slow, I just wasn't surprised in his case (he was actually .2s faster than I'd expected). Smile
We time all our guys. Freshman are always slower than the older guys on average. We time them on the first day of practice (try outs) and then we time them sometime later in the year. Of course we get some times on them during our fall and winter work outs as well. The average freshman is around 7.6 to 7.8. Our average time for seniors is around 7.2 to 7.4.
