What does "from both sides" mean? He throws both righty and lefty?

Scroll down to the 2012 section. LHP and RHP. Sounds like he plays 1b throwing left and 3b throwing righty. Wonder if he switches pitching arm depending on the batter?

Saw a pitcher do that in a travel game at a much younger age.

I can't remember if it's IHSA or NCAA, but I saw a rule change or clarification in the last couple of years disallowing this. It had something to do with switching equipment in the middle of an inning without switching position.

The kid that pitched from both sides for Creighton last year used a glove that could be used with either hand to work around that rule.

Have not seen him play, but I was there at the showcase. Freaky thing was mechanics were eerily the same from both sides. Arm angle at seperation..leg bend at stride out..glove arm location..like a mirror image. Looked to be a natural lefty, arm seemed slightly more loose and limber from that side. Deceleration left handed looked a little easier and not as abrupt as it did from the right side. Heard about him before, I believe he played for the Elgin Rippers last season. He was there with a WCHS team mate who was also very impressive. They are both playing with McHenry this season.

Since hes a Freshman im sure hes going to play High School Ball, tryouts are not until March. I dont see anything about his travel team getting any credit other than someone asking where he plays. The Travel VRS High School debate gets old.............

Him and his team mate both showed up in WC hats, not their travel team hats. Must have gotten them at summer camp. So yes I am assuming they will be playing for Westminster this season. Westminster has a beautiful field and if I remember correctly from last year, the team had some success. These two should contribute to continued future success of the program. In talking with them, they both seemed like real nice kids.

Westminster has had some success the past 2 years with 25 win seasons each year. These two young men will definitely help the team this upcoming year. Ryan Perez is a special talent with special future ahead of him if he continues to work hard.

Biggerpapi--Yes, the video showed him throwing from both sides. I wondering if there is any velocity change from one side to the other? I have never seen that before, has anyone ever see other players do that?

Pat Venditte was a switch pitcher for Creighton and was drafted by the Yankees last year.

He's the real deal. He and his teammate (please help me with his name) no-hit us in the Super Sectional in 2010.

I understood he would warm up with both arms then pitch the game with whichever felt best. That day it was his left arm.

We were so happy to see Ryan exit the game after the 4th or 5th inning. Oops, here comes Kevin. And he was no slouch either!

AZ got a good one. May I suggest a nice "southern" school for Mr. Perez...one with a lovely cardinal as a mascot?!?!

And, gotwood, he might as well had eight arms the way he pitched against us!
