Thanks for all the kind words. Very few people get a chance to realize a lifelong dream and to able to watch and be part of Ryan's dream was very special. I mentioned that "dream" to him and his typical "Ryan response" was that his dream was not complete until he was made a bobble head. He left today for Chicago to tie up some loose ends, flies off to the Yankees headquarters in Tampa for his physical /signing, and then flies to Staten Island to play in the NY-Penn League.

At the same time I have had this feeling of emptiness for college players, and families of those players on this site, and all through the college ranks who were passed up in this business of professional baseball. However, I know they will either have another baseball chance, or will succeed in areas outside of professional sports. Besides talent there is a lot of luck and timing that is associated with this day.

On another note. My daughters graduate from HS tonight and they put together an invitation that I thought was cool and even touched me more than the Ryan's draft. So, if any of you are passing through Madison next weekend stop by and say Hi.
