I assume that the games are actually in Carlsbad, not San Diego? There's about a 30-40 minute drive between the two. If it's actually in Carlsbad, and if it's not too late, I would try to rent a beach house or condo. Maybe share with another family. There are a bunch of family hotels along the 5 fwy. If you want to go first class, there's always LaCosta Resort!
