Unlike CT, Texas actually has sand on their beaches. When I lived in CT, all I saw was rocks on their beaches.

He can make fun of Texas all he wants, but I lived there for 4 years and TX for 9. Every time I have to go back up there, I make sure I get out as fast as I can.

You can complain about the heat all you want, but at least you don't have to shovel it like the white stuff up there.

Thanks for the link, ColtDad. I had no idea TX had dunes. Looks like a cool place. I'll try to visit sometime. I spent a week camping in the Great Sand Dunes National Monument several years ago.

And for more dunes, not Texas but close enough, check out White Sands in New Mexico.....

I grew up in Midland and went to the Monahans Sanddunes frequently as a kid. In the summer, the sand gets so hot it will fry the skin off your feet, but it was fun to take waxed up boards down the sides.
