While I"m waiting for a reply from the school counselor...I'll seek a quicker response from this forum. When the NCAA clearinghouse talks about SAT scores, are they adding up the three scores reading/math/essay? Or just the first two scores. It was my understanding that the essay was kind of experimental and didn't count. Just not sure whether we can add those extra points on son's SAT score or not. Thanks

If you add the essay, that should be spelled out somehow. Clearly a score over 1600 should tell one that the essay is part of the score, but if you scored 1580 for all three vs. the first two, then you are comparing someone who is average vs. someone who should go to Harvard, Stanford, and such schools. Best be honest, then you won't have to explain later when the truth comes out.
