I agree with a lot of it, however ..... the individual decision always rests on best times for the student.
I like January and March (taking both) for spring sport athletes. However, if the student has not yet completed a full year of Al 2, it will be a tougher time to get a solid math score.
(That said, the critical reading is traditionally the hardest section to "ace" unless your kid is an avid reader.)
Over the years, I actually have seen 'better' scores on the May test date but that is an absolutely terrible time for baseball players to prep.
June, also a time when our guys are "pretty distracted," should be for subject tests if they are taking any.
And don't forget the ACT. If he doesn't "like" his January SAT, consider a winter/spring ACT test date.
