Bill Simmons, the Sports Guy in ESPN magazine is pleading with sports lovers everywhere to save Friday Night Lights from being cancelled It's second season starts Oct. 5 and he calls it "the greatest sports-related show ever made." and he is a huge "White Shadow" fan. So please, help raise the ratings, so Coach Chandler won't have to leave his team and family drama. I too love the show, and watch it religously. Get hooked!

The book was awesome. It was a great study of high school sports, society and sociology. The movie was OK. I haven't watched it a second time. I had trouble sitting through the first few episodes of the TV show. They turned it into a soap opera. It was awful compared to the book. I'm curious if anyone who read the book before seeing the movie or the TV show feels the same.

I read the book first and didn't care for the movie, but love the drama of the team and family issues on the TV show.

I'd echo what TG said...the show is 10 times more about HS drama than about any sport. Book=Very Good, Movie=OK, TV=Terrible
