Marcus pitcher J. LeGuen to a hit to the head tonight during our game against Hebron, he was on the mound.

He is at the ER having tests done. It was a hard hit and we are all very concerned. Please say an extra prayer for this player.....

I will keep you posted.

They are transferring Jonathan to Parkland for observation due to some bleeding..... He is alert and remembers most of the evening, so that is good... My son just called and said that they have to keep him up all night and that they feel like he will be fine. THANK GOODNESS,,, Scary night for this young man and his family..........and for all of us w/son's that pitch....
Just talked to his mom and there is a quartersized hemotoma and they will do another CAT scan in a few hours to check to see if there is any change. I passed on your thoughts and prayers. This baseball community is a family like no other...

I will keep you posted. If you know this player or family PM if you would like an email address.
Talked to his mom early this am, they will do another CAT scan at 12nn, the subhemotoma has not gotten any bigger, that is good news, they are doing a great job with him and they just want to keep him in observation. May be released today or tomorrow.......

I have told his mom about this post and this community and I know she appreciates your thoughts and prayers.....THANK YOU....

Jonathon has had the season of his career and has a bright future ahead in baseball we have had much success as a team with him this year and we know there is nothing but success ahead of him.

We all look forward to him being back with the team ASAP.......

He was really battling on the mound last night, and was keeping his team in the game through four innings. Not to sound trite, but if the kid fights as hard in his recovery process as he did last night while pitching in game action, he's going to be in good shape. Here's hoping he can make as smooth a return to the mound (or elsewhere on the field) as possible whenever he, his doctors, coaches and parents, believe he's ready - physically and mentally. If he can return to the form he was showing last night, Marcus will definitely benefit. He looked good.
Talked to Jonathon's mom and his CT scan is rescheduled for tonight/tomorrow am, anytime between 12midnight and 4am (got to love Parkland and their schedules). If it is good he will be released, so everyone if you can just pray that he gets to come home Monday am. Poor kid hasn't had anything to eat since 2pm Saturday. He is exhausted, hungry but has had his mom by his side this entire time and that is the best medicine of all......
Just returned from an afternoon at Parkland. They finally got Jonathon out of ICU and he is in a regular room, so hopefully his days at the hospital are coming to an end and a release is very soon.

Jonathon finally got to eat today, McDonalds! That is a good sign, meaning that surgery isn't looming, he is off the IV and I think they are just transitioning him from a state of being flat on his back to being more mobile and making sure there are no issues with that.

He is in good spirits, very tired and is currently having to fight his hospital roommate for the one and only TV in the room. Boy, I know Jonathon is in TV trouble when Wrestlemania is winning over the Basketball game.... Hopefully the roommate will cave in and turn over the TV to kid!

I have expressed all your prayers and words to the family and they are so appreciated! This has been an emotional ride for the family esp. being in the same hospital and running into nurses that treated Chris G. just weeks ago. The LeGuen's are very thankful for their outcome but at the same time they know that another local baseball family didn't have the same outcome and that pains them.

Thank you to all!
Texan,
Thanks, this is a great baseball community and we all do what we do because of this sport and the friends we make!

Just heard from J's mom and it looks like he will be released today, passed all the speech/motor skills tests so that is GREAT... I know he will be glad to get home to his own bed/food and to get back to school for calculus Frown and back with his baseball buddies

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE SUPPORT and let's hope all our boys remain SAFE and HEALTHY for the last part of the season and into playoffs!

It's times like these where an umps call we think is wrong, or a swing by your son that drives you nuts, or not liking what your high schools coach did or said just seem really trivial.

I watched my 13 yr old slide into 2nd base 3 weeks ago and break his leg. My perspective has changed since. Stories like this just keep emphasizing that my new found perspective is right on.

After all... it's still just a game! Our family down here in Katy is very happy that he is doing better!
