I went to a pitching camp a week ago and came home with some new information about scapula loading that I had not heard before. I was just curious to know if it is as important when weight lifting not only to do shoulder exercises, but to also target the muscles between the shoulder blades? That would make sense to me, but I would like to know your opinions. If you think it would be wise to target those areas what exercises work best?

From the top of the pushup position, turn to your right and bring your left arm above your body. Your chest is facing the left side and your right hand and foot are supporting your body. It's tough to explain but when done right it really works the scapula. Another good exercise is to start at the top of a pushup and extend up as far as you can. Then, also from the top of a pushup, pinch your shoulder blades together. Hope this helps.

Just got an e-mail offer from Ron Wolforth's pitching academy. He's got a new training package coming out Jan 31st. I've been really happy with the results my son has had from the "Backshaping" program. It looks like this new program coming out adds in the use of weighted ball and intensive tube training. Also looks like you'd need to buy a mini-trampoline.....?
